Thoughts Discovered: Love, Adventure and Other Noble Quests ebook unfree, for now

Thoughts Discovered - Volume 1 - eBook - Cover

Howdy partners

I have news regarding the current state of the “Thoughts Discovered: Love, Adventure and Other Noble Quests” eBook on Amazon.

When I first signed up for the Kindle Select program I did so ignorantly. Thinking I would be able to run multiple free promotions throughout the compulsory 90 day period of having the eBook exclusively available on Amazon, I was wrong. However knowing what I know now, the fact is that I can only run one “5 day” free promotion over a 90 day period and during this period my eBook may only be available on the Amazon website. Seeing that I already ran the promotion, and it being over now, that mean the eBook is no longer free, anywhere, for the next 80 days or so. Of course I did more research after the fact and discovered how to make the book free, indefinitely, which I also attempted before signing up to the Kindle Select program but I did so erroneously. My fundamental mistake was pointing to the, then free, book on Smashwords instead of the one on Barnes and Noble, which was free. Amazon has a feature on a book’s page where the visitor can “tell us about a lower price?” and then which makes Amazon’s bots go searching to that match a lower price found on the site that was submitted, in this case a free version and subsequently making it free on Amazon. So my mistake was pointing Amazon to the Smashwords page of my eBook mand it turns out that Amazon does not take Smashwords’ word too seriously and they prefers their bigger competitor, Barnes and Noble, which is part of Smashwords’ distribution network any way.

And so we learn. I hope this information can help some other weary writers who which to have their eBooks available for free on Amazon, indefinitely.

So what does this mean to you, the eager reader wanting to get their hands on some free loot? Well, you’ll have to be patience and wait, or you can always buy the eBook for the low price of $2.99, I couldn’t set it lower than that unfortunately. You are also most welcome to buy the paperback edition also available on the Amazon website.

Explorers (from the, upcoming, second volume of the Thoughts Discovered series – Wisdom for This Age)

“We are explorers,
both you and I.

We are daring, fearless,
we travel through space and time.

We like to find things,
because things are there to be found.

We like to discover new places,
but not just here on Earth
where we are bound.

We like to create things,
which we were lovingly made for.

We like to experience life,
right now, and live it on, forevermore.

We are here to find
those secret stories.

We are here to uncover
their hidden glories.

We are explorers,
both you and I.

We are dreamers, alike,
pursuing the reaches of
the Highest of High.”

Thoughts Discovered: Love, Adventure and Other Noble Quests ebook temporarily unavailable

That’s right, as the title of this dispatch says, the ebook of Thoughts Discovered: Love, Adventure and Other Noble Quests is temporarily unavailable, the Smashwords edition that is, due to me having added the ebook to the Kindle Select program. To be legible for the Kindle Select program the ebook may not be available anywhere else on the Net and I therefore chose to unpublish the Smashwords edition for now.

The Kindle Select program allows me to partake in Amazon’s Free Book Promotion, and which will enable the book to be free on Amazon for a limited time. I am hoping that this will increase the traction of my book as Amazon has a large user base and people generally look out for these free book promotions. Once the promotion period is over I shall republish the book on Smashwords and all be right in the world again.

If you were looking to download the book and were unable to do so then please follow me on Twitter or Facebook, or check back here in a short while, for updates on the Amazon promotion and how get your hands on a free copy.
